Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes approximately 2 dozen cookies

A guaranteed crowd-pleaser, and just waiting for your extra mixins'!

Chocolate chip cookies
You will need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter or shortening
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or as much as you desire!)


For Sponge Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Farenheit, and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Using a wooden spoon, hand mixer, or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter or shortening until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the sugar, and continue to beat until light and fluffy (approx 3 minutes).
  4. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients in to the wet mixture. Ensure the dry ingredients are well incorporated after each addition.
  7. Mix in the chocolate chips
  8. Drop spoonfuls on to the cookie sheets. Try to ensure the cookies are similarly sized, to ensure even baking.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden around the edges. Repeat until all dough is baked.
